You are absolutely and completely incorrect. Social media platforms were made aware of lies, misinformation and disinformation that was being posted about Covid and asked to enforce their own rules regarding same. Said platforms have now, in complete anticipatory obedience to the most inveterate liar to ever hold public office, abandoned fact checking and hate speech moderation. You voted for this. What corrosive effects do you think this will have on our country and society as a whole? There is no comparison between trying to save lives during a pandemic and Meta being so afraid of MAGA that they block an historian’s post on Martin Luther King, Jr. None.
My point was not that the two were completely equal. Just stating what did occur in the past that many experienced (and no, not all of it was bad information). As we have recently learned much of the removal of information was directed by the Biden administration and not necessarily due to the posts validity. FYI, I heard today that there were various posts on Meta platforms yesterday that were deleted due to possibly being deemed copyright infringement. I wondered if this may have been what happened with Sharon’s post? I have no idea, of course, it just peaked my interest when I heard on the radio while running errands.
“As we have recently heard.” “I heard today.” More gaslighting. This ridiculous censorship narrative regarding Covid lies is no different than the white washing of enslavers trying to keep their slaves as State’s rights or Our Glorious Cause or repeatedly calling the despicable and horrendous attack on law enforcement and our Capitol a Day of Love. Broadcasting it over and over and over does not make it so.
Save your laughing/crying emojis for the families of all the Capitol police who were killed or injured as a result of the attacks by Trump’s frothing-at- the-mouth supporters who were enraged by The Big Steal, the most despicable gaslighting effort of them all.
And please save your outrage for someone other than me or better yet, no one else. You are assuming much regarding my views on many subjects. Yes, I voted for Trump. No, I do not agree with him 100% of the time. However, I do believe he will bring much needed realignment to our country.
Trump voters in 2016 might, MIGHT, deserve a modicum of benefit of the doubt. Trump voters in 2024 have no such excuse and knew exactly and in great detail what was coming, voted for it anyway and thus richly deserve and should expect whatever opprobrium is in store.
“I JUST GOT THE NEWS FROM MY LAWYER… I GOT A PARDON BABY! THANK YOU PRESIDENT TRUMP!!!” Jacob Chansley, dubbed the QAnon shaman as a reflection of his horned-animal headdress and body paint at the January 6, 2021, riot inside the U.S. Capitol, posted on X shortly after President Donald Trump commuted the sentences of or pardoned all those convicted of crimes related to the events of that day.
“NOW I AM GONNA BY SOME MOTHA FU*KIN GUNS!!! I LOVE THIS COUNTRY!!! GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!” he continued. “J6ers are getting released & JUSTICE HAS COME… EVERYTHING done in the dark WILL come to light!”
Penned attacks are the type of behavior Sharon spoke of and against yesterday. It is very sad. In an effort to thwart any additional barrage, I will not respond to any future replies from you.
I understand. It is very difficult to defend the indefensible. But I will not stop. In the midst of all of the destruction that Trump, his enablers and his voters have begun to rain down upon us, it is worth remembering the famous words of Cardinal Richelieu in the 1839 Bulwer-Lytton play of the same name: "The pen is mightier than the sword... Take away the sword; States can be saved without it!" I hope his words ring true now.
FYI: it was her reply prior to that one that I was referring to. Sometimes the replies don’t show in the correct order or back to the one being referenced.

You forgot to add the Russian disinformation regarding Hunter’s laptop…😂

I agree w/this, too. 👌👏

That may have been heartfelt out of frustration , but was not a penned attack. It was a penned direct quote.
