As a huge historical fiction reader, I've had the pleasure (or displeasure depending on the topic) of having had some awareness of certain events and people in your book. My process of reading over the years has become about digging further, learning more -- who were these people, how did they impact our world. Your book is like the digging I've done -- a source that gives me such a clearer understanding of these mighty fighters and events in our history. It also makes me want to discover what else I should know. One day, I'll be very interested in what you write about Trump. Thank you for this gem of a book! And congrats on your NYT #1!!!
To make the NYT Bestseller list -- top 10 -- is amazing. Number ONE? Pure GOLD! I'm very particular about which forums I subscribe to. Participating in the Preamble discussions has been both fulfilling and validating. I have a copy of The Small and the Mighty...and am saving it for a leisurely trip that begins next week. Unfortunately, preparing for that trip is why I am unable to attend your visit this evening in Denver. Congratulations Sharon, and good luck as you progress with this 'journey' in your life.
Congratulations! It really is a great book so it's no surprise. And I hate to do this to you but it was obvious to me while I was reading that there are so many more great stories that you probably discovered during your research that wouldn't fit in one, two, three, however many more books. I hope this upcoming election works out in a way where we return to politics as normal or maybe even move forward into a better political world so that you have more time to find these great stories and bring them to us. Also, I came from the entertainment business and can't help seeing movies, limited series and series based on these stories dancing through my head. But I guess we shouldn't get ahead of ourselves right now.

This #1 on the New York Bestseller list is so deserved! I will see you in Minneapolis on your book tour. I do have one ticket available if anyone needs a ticket.
