I also am encouraged to read about more humane enforcement procedures. I wonder if there is or could be a global conference in which policies and procedures could be shared, discussed, formulated? I know that's simplistic and a bit too optimistic, but in a better world?

Very interesting to read a comparison. I do wonder about some of the countries that are on the more coercive or inhumane side. What do some of those countries do? I don’t think it would make America seem better, per se, but it would be interesting to see where we fall given the change in policy.
I'm all for government control that is fair and humane. Great Britain , Germany and Canada seem to be trying to do that but not our country ,who is fearful in it's approach to protecting our citizens. Granted, we are to respect our government but not be petrified by it.

I’d think folks would be interested in using a less expensive form of immigration enforcement as opposed to what the current admin is doing now.

I have often wondered how other countries handle border security, particularly countries that have northern and southern neighbors like us. Thank you.
