The saddest part of this, for me, is that “let’s not send people to foreign prisons by mistake with no proof of wrongdoing and if we do, bring them back” is now partisan.

I still don’t know what action if any is going to be taken for the president not following SCOTUS ruling.

I agree - I wish there had been a more clarifying answer around this topic, other than "maybe that will be the red line for Republicans in Congress."

They are still too worried about their reelection campaigns to speak out against their own party/president. The scales so far have not tipped over into "well I better do the right thing even if it destroys my chance of getting reelected." Who knows if/when that tipping might ever happen.

It's infuriating...we've lost all integrity in this country. Starting to write short letters once a week to SCOTUS saying DO BETTER! - SAVE OUR DEMOCRACY! - WE DON'T DO KINGS! OMG what else can we do? All my representatives (CA) are my side and fighting back thankfully!

Power is a hell of a drug. They don't want to risk giving it up unless they absolutely have to (and I'm worried at that point, it might be too late). I'm glad you have supportive reps, at least :)

Thank you both - this was so educational and I really appreciated your candid conversation. I don't feel much hope about anything in our country these days, but this did make me feel hopeful.

This was so helpful, and while parts of the discussion left me anxious, other parts left me hopeful. I appreciated the calm, thoughtful, educational conversation. I will listen to it again to hopefully take even more away from what I learned.

Wasn’t trump the one demanding law and order in 2020 when there were protests against racial discrimination and police brutality? Another example of Trump cherry picking when the law applies and when it doesn’t.
