This!! It keeps my perspective as I have to work a 16hr shift on Christmas. And reading these messages (and ugly crying through them) reminds me of how blessed i am to be able to do the next needed thing and spend Christmas with 15 dementia patients so the younger aides can be home with their littles for Santa. I love what I do but sometimes I need a reminder that my seemingly unnoticeable work is important and that my life is abundantly rich. Giving to this always makes my heart happy. And reading these messages, I smile and cry with joy and thanks to God for you, Sharon. Thank you so much for all the hard work you do to make this possible without being paid a dime to make it happen. I am forever grateful to be a Governerd. Merry Christmas to Sharon, her family and all of the Governerd family!! ❤️
Anna, yes, if She exists, She has blessed Sharon, all of the Governerds, and countless others with hearts that both Give and Receive. I am proud to stand on their shoulders.
This is my first year subscribing on Substack as well, and I am a huge fan of Sharon. I will be saving up this year to subscribe to Governerds next year. I wish that I would have had a teacher like Sharon when I was young, I believe it would have changed my life.
I recently discovered a true American patriot. Her name is Sharon. Not only that, she lives her beliefs and her friends join in. Now that I know, I will, too. If anyone you know wants to know about the American Spirit, this is what it looks like.
I was there four years ago and happy to still be a part of your community and this most recent round of giving. Thank you for being a light, the many hours of work you do to make this happen, a voice of hope and reason, and allowing us all to come along for the journey.
Thank you so much for putting in the work to do this. I know it takes a toll on your time with your friends and family. Two years ago you helped a dear friend of mine and I will never forget your generosity and how much it changed my friend’s life at the time. I feel so grateful for this community ❤️
As an OG Governerd who has followed this and talked about it for years, I continue to be gripped with emotion with each shared story. Gripped by the hope people reveal that has been renewed. Gripped by the generosity people reveal through big and little efforts is also deeply inspiring. Sharon, you are someone very special who deserves a lot of notice. Your common sense ways to see and help others are exactly what we all need. Merry Christmas to you, Chris and your beautiful family. I am looking forward to seeing how you grow us all in 2025 🩷🎄
I was one of the OGs that first Christmas. It makes my heart full to think of the people we have helped through the years. Thanks you for making this possible. I know how much work it is and you are appreciated.
So glad I found this group 4 years ago. Thank you for creating this space and attracting the people who are ready and willing to do the next needed thing. ❤️🎄❤️🎁❤️
What these recipients may not realize is the gift they give us in sharing their experiences. Reading these reminds me of the Christmas we almost lost our daughter, and re-centers me each year. May we all remember throughout the year that we never know what others are facing and the power of giving hope.
Sharon, this community, all of you give me so much hope for this world. What has been done here and in the past with these giving campaigns is truly a bright light in what can be a very dark world. So proud to be a part of this community that genuinely cares about taking care of their neighbors and making the world a better place a little at a time. Happy Holidays to you all!

I’m an atheist but if God is a real thing, may He bless you Sharon, and people like you. The world stands on your shoulders.

I just subscribed to your substack for a year because I want to be a part of this. Thank you for letting all of your readers know.

So many vulnerable, good people. So many generous, good people. Thank you for this amazing work. There is light on Christmas Eve.
