I think the bigger question will be how Democrats can take back control of the narrative. It’s seemed to me that the GOP has crafted a media apparatus that sets the news, the panic, the anger and upset. Dems will never win if they don’t begin to craft their own narrative rather than letting the GOP define them. (And of course, the viewer…

Ashley, the Dems actually “owned” all of main stream media, CNN & MSNBC during the entire election season. Only now are some of them beginning to admit to participating in false information!
Maybe you should ask yourself WHY their viewership is so much higher than the others…no one was/is forced to watch FOX. My point is, all other top TV and cable channels were pushing the narrative that the Dem party ran on.
And now are admitting that much of it was false. No surprise to many that FOX’s numbers continue to climb while the others appear to be in distress.
There are many possible reasons as to why Fox has the highest viewership. I would argue at least part of the reason is that Fox tells people what they want to hear. It may also be because there’s only one mainstream conservative network and several liberal networks, which fractures viewership. Also, cable news is watched by older audiences, and Conservatives are older. Ultimately, the reason why doesn’t matter nearly as much as the fact that the truth of it means that Conservatives frequently set the narrative while simultaneously claiming they are outmatched. It’s fascinating, actually…
I think you make assumptions here to support your narrative. “Fox tells people what they want to hear”, being one. According to that premise, the liberal networks who certainly pandered to their audience, even to the point of misleading/false information, ie., Biden’s mental health. It appears you believe conservatives are ill-informed and don’t have the capacity to discern fact from fiction. I see it a lot on here actually. Do you truly believe this or just sad your preferred candidate lost? I hope the later…
You’re making a lot of assumptions here. All networks tell people what they want to hear, including Fox and CNN, etc. My slightly left-leaning opinion is that Fox plays more fast and loose with the truth, particularly in their opinion-led shows such as Hannity and Watters (which happen to be their most watched programs). As to believing fact vs fiction, all humans tend to believe what they want to hear and challenge what they don’t want to hear, whether conservative or liberal.

You’re neglecting Fox News’s hold on the media narrative. Fox has far more viewers than any left-leaning media outlet.
