Thank you for sharing this! It was interesting to see the process. Naming a book seems like naming your child, you really want to get it right because it’s going to, likely, be forever. It’s a lot of pressure!
Uh oh, “knit pick?” Did your editor actually write that or was it the knitter in you coming out?😂 Thanks for the hilarious look behind the scenes at the sausage making involved in coming up with a great book title and congrats for avoiding the how-to section! I very much look forward to diving in as soon as my copy arrives.
Love this BTS, as well. We, the readers, ( unless we are also writers ), nonchalantly walk into a bookstore or online book site, “oh that looks interrsting”... Look at cover. Appealing. Read the Title. Resonates. Read the back cover. Ok. Flip to synopsis/reviews. All of 2-3 minutes and decide. 3 minutes of decisions. To your years and hours of creating. 😂 You nailed it!
It’s both intriguing and hopeful. Reading “small and mighty“ as a descriptor of each individual person gives hope that we all have an opportunity to make a positive difference.
So now we know that all the awful book covers with mountains and people staring over valleys and looking at mountains or almost falling off mountains was your fault for first suggesting that title 😜. This is a great story. Thanks for sharing!
I enjoyed this so much! My daughter is a writer with her first children’s book to come out next year and she went through something like this with her publisher & agent when picking the title of her book
*Very* here for BTS content like this 😍
What an interesting look at the process. Your team sounds very thoughtful and knowledgeable…just like you.

Plus you have to sell your child. People have to want to buy your attractively named child.

Haha! I thought the same thing.
So do you have more unsung Americans waiting for your next edition!!! ✍️

That was a great trip through how a book gets it's title.
I’m a “how it works” gal and this was fascinating to me! Thanks for sharing. I cannot wait to read it!!
Thanks for this BTS! I think the title is perfect, and I haven't even read the book yet!
It really did make me laugh out loud 😂🤣
