When The Preamble first started, it was simple: help people understand what’s happening in the world without feeling like they need to rage-quit the internet.
Over the past year, we’ve heard from tens of thousands of you — teachers, parents, journalists, community leaders — saying the same thing:
“I want to stay informed. I just need a way to do it that doesn’t leave me exhausted.”
So we built it.
The next version of The Preamble is designed around what you’ve asked for:
deeper reporting on the issues shaping your life,
a way for you to vote on what we cover,
and resources that help you do something with what you learn.
It’s still the same mission — to make sense of the world without losing heart — but it’s about to become something bigger, more interactive, and powered entirely by readers like you.
We’ll show you everything on Thursday.
Until then, thank you for making this possible.
Because The Preamble was built for you — and, in many ways, by you.
