I am going to my first Minnesota District Democrat meeting today as a delegate. I am learning so much. I have a voice and I believe my voice is stronger at the local level. We are focused on getting ICE out of Minnesota and guarding our beautiful boundary waters area. Wish us luck!
We adopted a cat from the shelter last weekend. They didn't know much about him, but he came in with a hurt leg. An x-ray at the shelter clinic on Wednesday shows a fracture at his elbow and they recommend amputation. I was not at all prepared for that possibility. Our regular vet thinks the leg might be saved, but in a frozen, crooked position. All this back and forth means putting him in a crate for transport which he fights like crazy, traumatizing us both. He has now crammed himself behind furniture where we can't reach him and doesn't trust us, which makes me sad. It's been a very emotional week. All this to say, my mind has been distracted from the war, the ICE cruelties, gas prices, etc. I'm not sure I can recommend this as a strategy, but it definitely changed my focus for a few days.
