Imagine labeling the death of 100 civilians, perhaps more than 250, and the intent to continue killing more civilians, a “skirmish”. Sounds like the words of someone who doesn’t value human life very much.
I expect the prosecution of Ms. Hutchison is primarily to punish her further in the court of right-wing media opinion and to cause her to become heavily burdened with legal fees, thereby making an example of her in case other lower level officials were to be tempted to do the right thing if the opportunity arises. The Trump machine cannot let integrity and honor go unpunished.
I would hope that a quality defense firm will take her case pro bono. It is unlikely that she would be found guilty even if the case were to make it to trial. A malicious prosecution case is probably in order.
