Stuff We’re Loving
My dip recipe, books, and more!
Sharon:
This recipe is a crowd favorite! I double it at holidays and it’s always gone. These measurements are not exact — I eyeball it.
Democracy Dip
2 Tbsp grated white onion
½ cup sour cream
½ cup mayonnaise
3 Tbsp chopped fresh dill
2 Tbsp ranch seasoning
¼ tsp seasoning salt (I like Johnny’s)
Adjust to taste! If you like it more tangy, use more sour cream. If you want a little more bite, add more onion. I’ve also used red onion in place of white, and cilantro in place of dill, and it’s still just as good. You can replace the sour cream with Greek yogurt too!
Mel’s Kitchen Cafe slightly modified the recipe and posted it here – this is also her image.

Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim
I started reading David Sedaris’s work ages ago, with his book Naked, and I’ve read almost every book he’s written since. His writing is witty, goes down easy, and laugh-out-loud funny. He’s self-deprecating and has a wild and hilarious family (you might know his comedian sister, Amy Sedaris). This memoir is a great introduction to his work.
Amazing Sweet Potato Pie
For more than 30 years, my family only ate apple and pumpkin pie at holidays. But I found this sweet potato pie, and it has officially replaced the pumpkin. It’s really delicious, and my kids reach for it over the apple! There’s a secret ingredient in it that I’ve never used before in any other dishes. Just use a store-bought crust — nobody will know the difference!
Rebecca:
Neck Massager
I am tough on the right side of my neck — between writing all day at a desk, being a side sleeper, and working out, there’s a lot of soreness there. I love this heated neck massager. You can change the temperature and pressure, and it automatically shuts off if you leave it on too long.
Stained Glass Window Treatment
After living on the fifth floor of a walk-up for three years, my little fam is adjusting to our new home, which includes ground-floor windows (in a city). We put up these privacy films — they’re great for keeping the dog from barking when he sees someone walk by, they still let the light in, and none of my neighbors will see me napping on the couch. They were also super easy: you just measure, spray water, and press!
Terry:
Comfortable Jumpsuits
I AM OBSESSED with these jumpsuits from Big Bud Press! They are so easy to put on when I want to wear something cool and fun out. I even got married in one! They are spendy, but the quality is so great!
The Tiniest Hamper
We keep these hampers in our bathroom for our face washcloths so we don’t mix them with anything else! A game-changer for small bathrooms — and for our ADHD.

BFF Cream by Trinny London
If I had to pick only one makeup product to use and abandon all others, it would be this. It’s magic, really. It is white out of the bottle but then matches your skin tone, reduces redness where that’s needed, and just overall feels light and isn’t messy. It’s not the cheapest, but only a small amount is needed each day so it lasts quite a while.
Emilie:
The Best Pens
They write soooo smoothly on the page, are light to carry around, and just make minimalist me super happy!
Cheese Slicer
Block cheese is so much better than pre-sliced cheese. You get to decide how thick you want it, you skip the weird waxiness, and it’s way cheaper. Having a solid cheese slicer is a must!
Mandi:
Atmosphere
I’m devouring this book about NASA and the introduction of women into the space shuttle program in the 1980s. I had to force myself to put it down at midnight.

I read Atmosphere after Sharon’s book club read Challenger earlier this year. Highly recommend reading both. I loved the juxtaposition of the details we learned in Challenger with the fictional story of Atmosphere set in the same world.
Would you please share the dog chews you've been using? I can't remember the name of the product and can't locate a post! Thanks!
