Stuff We’re Loving
Including some fun ideas for holiday gifts!
Melanie:
The Wonder Oven
There is not a single product we use more in our kitchen than this. It’s an air fryer (and holds double the amount of most), toaster, roaster, oven, and it can reheat food in a few minutes. We have stopped using the microwave (other than for popcorn), because this is fast and the food tastes so much better! I even made some mini apple pies in it pre-Thanksgiving.
The Best Fancy Salt
I love salt. And I cannot live without this Icelandic flake salt. I have used it for years! It’s worth the price, and also makes a great gift. Sprinkle on top of chocolate chip cookies, roasted vegetables, anything! It’s that good.
French Salt Cellar
You’ll want one of these to hold your salt in. This is the one I have, and it sits right next to the stove. Small enough that it barely takes up any space, but big enough that you don’t have to constantly refill it.
Terry:
Block Out the Noise
We go to our fair share of shows, and sometimes even the orchestra at a musical is a LITTLE too loud. These are super comfy, have adjustable decibel-filtering levels, and come with a very compact case — perfect for just having in your bag!
Slippers for People Who Hate Slippers
I used to LOATHE slippers. Either they were too warm, they slipped around too much on my foot, they were too heavy, or I couldn’t find something fun for a person with big feet like me. I have always found myself throwing them in the back of my closet and never seeing them again. But these have changed that for me. I have a pair at home, and a pair in the car to wear at friends’ houses. I forget they are on because they are so light, and they aren’t too warm.
Emilie:
Educational Posters for Kids
These cute prints hang in my playroom and I’m always asked about them! I printed them at Walgreens on one of those flash sales and put them in big photo frames from IKEA. It’s really affordable playroom art that’s also educational. My three-year-old is learning his letters right now and loves the alphabet poster. We regularly swap them out because you get 30 prints in the bundle — depending on what he’s learning at preschool and what we’re focusing on at home, new posters make appearances.
Picasso Tile Racetracks
I grew up playing with trains, and my kids loved playing with wooden train sets. Last year, I also found PicassoTiles on sale and bought some! They have been a game-changer. Our playroom always has a track set up. We have neighborhood kids and teens over all the time, just so they can come and build. The teens like to figure out how to set it all up, and the littles love to build embellishments (car washes, tunnels, houses, parking garages) for the track. This year for Christmas, my little guy is going to get a couple of new add-ons because it is really the toy that keeps him off of electronics. Even my eight-month-old baby loves to sit and play with them.
Craig:
Pants for Work and Home
These pants are a dream combo for me as someone who works from home. They feel as soft as sweatpants but still look professional enough to wear for work! When I get to the end of my day, I don’t even feel the need to switch into comfy clothes!
Dani:
Plant Waterer
I am notorious for over- or under-watering my indoor plants (and killing them). But that was the old Dani, before I found these watering globes. They come in all shapes and sizes, but they have saved my indoor plants’ lives — literally! Good for anyone who loves to buy plants but struggles to keep them alive.
