A bunch of books, podcasts, documentaries, and resources to help
So many of you have been asking us for weeks to do an issue on food and farming, so we know there’s a lot you’re looking to learn.
That’s why we put together this 14-page guide for you!
It’s a specially curated list of more than 30 titles. We’re talking books on families who have been farming for generations, and what it means to be a farmer — from the backbreaking work to the financial strain. And for history lovers: how food transformed societies, to the 15 foods that shaped our country.
Plus, documentaries and podcasts on so many topics, including how some of the foods we eat today can be traced back to the Civil War, and the special vault that is the Noah’s Ark for food production, holding the largest diversity of seeds found in the world.
And, as always, there are ways for you to get involved, whether it’s at a local food bank or donating to a worthwhile cause. We have vetted these charities, so you don’t have to do the work yourself.
Tell us in the comments below what you think, and if there’s anything we can add for you for the future.
