I am a published author! I have been waiting years to say those words. Thanks so much for the support and excitement you’ve shown me this week.
Now, let’s take a second to catch up on what you might have missed on The Preamble:
Who is Sonia Sotomayor?
The first Latina and third woman to serve on the Supreme Court spent her whole life being told she wasn’t good enough. She let those doubts energize her path to the bench.
A Note From a Published Author…
I hope you know that I wrote this book for you. And more than that — I hope you can feel the love and care I put into each and every word. We all have the power to say yes when our moment comes.
The Power of Doing…Something
I talked with Sarah Stewart Holland and Beth Silvers, the women behind the popular podcast, Pantsuit Politics about the power of doing something, even when the enormity of the world’s problems make us feel paralyzed with indecision on what we can do.

Some conversations that I had this week…

What I am listening to…
Behind the Scenes of The Small and the Mighty, Episode 2
I walk down memory lane, laughing over the dozens of book covers I went through before finally settling on THE ONE. From a woman riding a flying eagle (really), to one with more weapons than you can count, these are the worst of the worst. I share my feelings on the process, who helped me decide, and how I figured out the right color and image for The Small and the Mighty.
