the use of force on the Venezuelan boats in the Caribbean. Can we really blow people up like that? where is the evidence that these are 100% drug boats and legally does it even matter?

Why are we blowing people up like that?

What is the motivation?

Who is going to investigate it?

Who is going to hold the government accountable?

How are they going to hold the government accountable?

What will be the consequences?

What happens next, if none of the above things happen at all?

I would love an issue exploring all things food - from local farmers (how are workers paid/treated, how are small farmers making any money with all the cuts that came earlier this year), how Big Ag works, SNAP/WIC benefits (how investing in food access, particularly for children, is key to a healthy society), food deserts, how food pantries are currently struggling and how to help, etc.

I would love this too. And adding to that, how this is affecting the animals/pets of the people losing benefits, as well as what are the best ways to help.

Yes…should we be donating pet food to food banks?

I'm just losing hope. Immigrants who aren't the "worst of the worst" being rounded up. Snap benefits running out in days. Boats being blown up in the Caribbean without due process. Part of the White House being destroyed. Maybe worst of all, how many people are oblivious to or, worse, supportive of it. How about a weekly focus on happiness and resilience? How do you keep going? What gives people hope? I could use some help there.

Please teach us more on the Supreme Court and how the different judges approach presidential power. My question is vague because it reflects my lack of knowledge. I just have read enough to know that some of them have no problem with giving Trump more power due to their deep belief system.. I don’t understand what that System is.

How are we going to stop Trump NOW?

The potential for Congress to end Trump’s emergency powers. I’m assuming that the Senate vote to revoke tariffs on Brazil is mostly symbolic, as it won’t get through the House. If Congress did revoke emergency powers, would that end the threat of overseas gulags and the decimation of crewed fishing boats in the Caribbean? Is there potential for Trump to start a war with Venezuela and retain emergency powers outside of the bounds of Congress? I would love more context.

Yes would love more on why Congress is completely letting go on their power. At this point Congress could go away and things wouldn't change in this administration. Also would love on how we can help keep the administration accountable for their actions and choices.

Sharon, this new Preamble format is fantastic! A big huge thank you to you and your talented team. It’s so navigable, readable, and shareable. Despite being hosted on a platform I find super confusing, this e-magazine is super intuitive. I love that I have a week to peruse thematic articles that challenge me to see multiple angles of an issue. And, in a nation where everything feels so driven by profit, even our journalistic media, I’m grateful for your out-of-the-box, creative, ethical approach to reporting/commenting/explaining the news Thank you.

10% of all college grads 27 and under are unemployed - and that number is growing. In 2015 8% of all college grads were in the trades. As of 2025? It’s 33%. Ask Chat about predictions for 2030 white collar jobs lost and once you get past the programmed optimism inherent in its script it tells you at least 20% of the jobs will be gone with rounding error new jobs being created. In other words? 67million white collar jobs shrinks to 47million. And fast. These young adults are the canary in the coal mine. Begging for someone to actually dig way deeper into the economic disaster that’s about to unfold.

Where has due process gone?!

I too struggle with this.

It will take the efforts of all of us to inquire, speak amongst ourselves and demand to know the truth, especially from our representatives in Congress, AND also the young folks who often answer their phones lines, plus our friends or just people we strike up a short conversation in the grocery line with.

Whew

The arc of justice that ML King spoke of is truly flat / it will take a long time!

Keep after it!

This morning I am reading an article by Jonathan Last in The Bulwark about Trump taking steps with 3 private companies to build nuclear power generation. Then, he is taking a personal share in the projects. Doesn't Congress have something to say about this? How can this be?
