Thank you, Sharon, and Ambassador Rice. 💛

I have a genuine question. And I hope people can see what I’m intending as I ask it. Hear me out.🙏🏼

I understand everything that goes into decisions- for war, to remedy the tragedies, and the need by the masses for something to be done.

I’m just looking at the solutions that were touched on just even in this video. We have already taken out a world, leader, an authoritarian in Venezuela. We took out Saddam Hussein in 2006, and it did not provide peace or stability for Iraq. In fact, it created ISIS.

Taking out a person, or even a regime, does not kill an idea. And in the case of Venezuela, an idea that is pervasive and has over time greatly affected an entire populous.

I’m not saying what they’re doing isn’t wrong. Genocide, killing your own people for protesting, all of that is against humanity.

What I’m saying is the manner in which we are going about it. If we just take it to a personal level, if I completely disagree with my neighbor because of the way, they run their life and raise their children, I could choose to kill them, or go into their home and extract them for the sake of their family. That is true. But it doesn’t get rid of the ideal.

It puts me on the same level as them. Trying to control.

We know war doesn’t work. We’ve proven that time and again.

I’m not saying I have the answers. I’m saying, “Hate cannot drive out hate. Only Love can do that.” -MLK

Maybe it’s time to try love. To give peace a chance. In our hearts first, and then extending it to other others. I saw it work in Minneapolis.
