Stories like this one, Sharon, are essential reminders of the unique aspirations of our young Nation (then; and even now by historic comparisons). We deny and seek to abandon that reality foolishly because it is baked into our very souls--and it is still something we offer a world in constant turmoil because artificial perceptions seek to erase our common humanity. Joseph Pulitzer offers a superb example of what that aspiration can yield. Your use of it in honoring the men and women we pause to appreciate today is so appropriately American. Yes, we have made many mistakes and overcome (partially) many distortions in the dream that was this new Nation. Still, the order of the day remains: Tene Cursom. Stay the course with new resolve, partly because our rich heritage demands no less from us.

Thank you for the inspiring stories you share. When we know how everyone contributes we feel more connected to US instead of me and them.
