Before Everything Changes...
The new Preamble launches Thursday, and we want to hear from you
When The Preamble began, it was a handful of people hungry for something better — a meaningful discussion of current events that treated readers like the adults that they are.
People who believed that context isn’t a luxury, it’s a civic duty.
Now, there are hundreds of thousands of us. And this Thursday, we’re turning that belief into something even bigger.
The new Preamble is almost here — redesigned to bring you closer to the stories that shape our lives.
But before we launch, I want to hear from you.
Want to write us a letter about immigration? How is this topic impacting you, in both big ways and small? What are you thinking about as you read the news? If you live outside the US, what are you seeing where you are? Send a letter to the editor, and we’ll read every one. We’ll even feature some when we launch on Thursday.
Send your letter here.
This week is a recommitment to what we started together: understanding the world, without losing faith in it.
We only get to do this once — relaunch The Preamble for a new chapter of American history. You’ve been here from the beginning. Be part of what’s next.
Join as a paid subscriber before Thursday and get 20% off your first year.
With deep gratitude,
—Sharon McMahon & everyone at The Preamble
I have a question about this - I am a paid (monthly) subscriber here on substack, do I need to subscribe to something else? Thank you for all you do! 😊
Your post says “as a paid subscriber (which I know I am), get 20% off…” So, it sounds like we have to pay more for the new preamble? Is that called a “upgrade”? When I click into that link, it just shows me the $80 per year that will renew automatically on June 2026. Is that the price of the new preamble? Or do I need to “upgrade” or “change“ the payment details? Please advise. I don’t want to miss anything! The new one sounds like a deep dive every week, instead of something to look at & try to read every day – that fits better with my schedule. Thanks!
