I live in Utah and have never heard anyone thread the needle on this topic quite like you have. I now have a better understanding of the precarious situation we are in, and can participate in the discussion in a more meaningful way. Thank you!
Such an informative article. Thank you so much for taking the time to research and write this. We lived in the Phoenix area for over 28 years and water usage was always a problem.
This is such good information! I grew up in mid century Southern California and the water issue was a topic of conflict even then for conservation minded folks. It’s helpful to have this so clearly described.
Fantastic article. This is an issue that I was not aware of. Thank you for doing the research and sharing! I look forward to hearing the public meetings on this.
Thank you so much for this article. As a Colorado resident this is a pressing issue for our state that really isn’t being discussed outside of the involved states and tribes. I’m hopeful for a resolution and will read the summary. Thanks for reporting on this! It’s important for everyone.
I live in Las Vegas. We knew about this expiration date of this treaty, however, didn’t know the extent of the latest news. Our water district has tightened water restrictions about 20 years ago.
Thank you for this article, it is absolutely fascinating. I remember reading about water availability in the Southwest and then water treaties in geography classes in college. I ended up working in water quality and have since read more about water issues in the region. But my expertise is not in hydrology. I look forward to looking through the draft proposal!
