As the first female baseball player in our city’s senior (13-15 year olds) division of little league, I’m elated to see this!!! So many fond memories of those days, remembering how I thought I could grow up to beat Hank Aaron’s home run record, only to hit puberty and realize I could never compete with the men. Wishing there would have been baseball options (I never enjoyed softball) for older girls and women so I might have pursued my dream.

A League of Their Own was my favorite movie growing up. I've watched it dozens of times. This story makes me so happy. I can't wait to see a game!

Baseball has always been my favorite sport that only the neighborhood kids would let me play. When my brother got to sign up I was so excited to be old enough the next year to sign up too! Then my dad told me the horrifying news that it was only for boys. I’m thinking 70 is a bit too old to get into the league now. Best of times to those who will go forward!

Am I the only one who looked at that photo of the Legendary Ted Williams and thought, "He doesn't look like a guy who's playing a game he loves"?

Excellent article. <3 <3 <3
